Wonderful antique early American pattern glass (EAPG) dating 1870. Listed in antique glass books as Frosted Flower Band Pattern, also called Bird Finial Pattern. A covered handled sugar bowl with conical form base. Has a continous band at center of bowl that wraps around covered in clear floral motif with Oak leaf and acorn motif on conical base on each side of bowl. The top/lid is just beatiful, a pair of entwined frosted glass kissing love birds, the feel of Lalique so if you love Lalique you will love this ultra Victorian antique glass. Below the birds is a picket fence style motif that decorate edge of birds. This measures 7" high to top of finial and is 3 1/4" across rim of bowl. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Glass is clear non-flint with frosted accents except at center band. A few light straw marks from manufacture. I have many other pieces that will be listed, pitchers, compotes, a master compote, dishes, celery, sugar, oval covered dishes, stemware, in this pattern. This is a very rare and hard to find pattern, a private collection will be up for auction piece by piece. Item #18
