Offered is this very rare early 1800's cast in one piece sleigh bell by William Barton of East Hampton, Conn. [Barton manufactured 1808-1826.]It is a large size #5---about 3" across. It has eight petals and two cast holes and an oval attaching hole.The makers mark--William Barton [WB] is in the center of the "daisy" petals.Experts estimate that only 1%-2% of the bells on the market are of this very early craftsman.Note the casting defects in the photos.
