Antique Early 19 thCentury Child’s Sampler by Sadie F. Age 6 1814 – Wonderful!!! This auction is for a wonderful antique sampler made by a young girl in 1814. The sampler has the letters from A to K with a cross stitch line under them. There is a diamond shape in the center with a pale yellow stitched squares on either side of it. The fabric has discolored over time so they are hard to see. The name of the child is Sadie F. and she has also stitched age 6 in 1814. The stitches are those of a child who is just learning so are not perfect. This sampler was recently purchased at the estate auction of a primitive’s collector; all items auctioned were from the early to mid 1800’s. I had a difficult time getting good pictures because of the glass reflecting the flash off my camera. The first picture in my listing was taken outside so no flash was used. In the rest of the pictures, I have taken them from different angles so that you can see the sampler completely. It is framed but the frame is newer. The outside dimensions of the frame are 10 ¾” x 8 ¾” and the sampler fills it completely. It’s a wonderful sampler and exactly 200 years old!
