Antique 19thc Minton Bisque/ Biscuit / figure of a PUG DOG c1835 Delightful early 19thc Minton biscuit/ bisque figure of a pug dog. The figure is number 20 in the Minton shape book. This gorgeous pug figure is 4 inches long, 2.25 inches wide and is 2.5 inches high. The dog lies recumbent on a tasselled cushion. In very good condition with just a very small nibble on the fringing just underneath one of the tassels, and two or three firing flaws so often seen with this medium. The photos do form part of the description. Unmarked but without doubt Minton as a similar figure can be seen in the Parian Phenomenon page 93 fig.155 and also reference is made in MINTON POTTERY AND PORCELAIN of the first Period 1793-1850 by G Godden page 90.
