Offering a superb and very rare, hard to find early example of extraordinary turkey red and brown cotton paisley fabric. Love this awesome piece!! So thrilled to have stumbled upon it. I believe this would be considered an Indienne design right in line with early woven paisley shawls of it's day etc... Very refined appeal, a fine example of 19thc paisley cotton in the best rich early hues of red, med. brown and camel beige. Just ever so slightly denser than a calico cotton. A bolder larger scale piece, each paisley measuring aprox 5 in long. Very early yet still retains a good bit of it's vibrant early hues. A very nice dense cotton in a gorgeous stylized pattern. Condition is very good for it's age on this piece (may have a very faint age spot and tiny break simply to cover myself :). An excellent piece for the collector or artisan. It can be used both vertical or horizontal depending on your design preference or project. A pillow of sorts would be oustanding (even a pillow roll :).... amongst any number of early projects. For study, it is again an extraordinary example of 19thc turkey red paisley. Measures 24 1/2 by 26 in. Last few photos give you a good idea of the overall pattern/graphics.
