This Item for your consideration is a beautiful Antique Windsor style sack back, or bow back chair. It comes from an 1803 New England summer home in the Adirondacks, though the home was built in 1803, the first owners had been in the country since the mid 1700s, and would frequent this home during the summers. They owned the land prior to 1803 but the previous cottage was demolished in that year, so I am unaware of exactly how long the previous cottage had stood for. The Family came from New York city, and prior to that Germany. T is a chance that this is an 18th century piece but I am not sure, though at least it is an early 1800s reproduction of the popular Windsor style sack backs of 18th century New england.
I will ship to any w in the lower 48 United States, and the package will be insured for the final value at auction end. We will figure out the exact cost of shipping after the auction has ended, Thanks For Looking, Happy Bidding!!!!! Feel free to email me with questions. Just an honest update, Upon close scrutiny of this chair by a knowledgeable antique dealer, the chair was found to be a mid to late 1800s reproduction. T is no stamp, but because of the way the seams are made on the seat the best guess was that the chair was a late 1800s reproduction of the Colonial Windsor style, I thought that this could have been the case and that is why I put the starting bid so low to begin with. It is still a valuable antique chair, but it is not colonial, the estimated auction house value was $400 to $600 thanks again for looking... HAPPY BIDDING!!!
