This is an Romantic/Parlour early Spanish guitar by renowned luthier Salvador Ibanez circa 1895. This is an early Ibanez made in his 'Bajada' studio in Valencia (see inside label image) This could well be made by the man himself, I say this because it was some years later Senor Ibanez, and then sons ramped up their production to become a force in Spanish guitar production. Google/Wiki 'Salvador Ibanez' for loads of info on the interesting past of what is now a world leading guitar company. The guitar is in generally poor condition and I would advise only someone with good skills and lots of G-clamps to attempt to restore it. The thin back I think is Ma***any but am not sure, (looks like bonfire toffee) has split from top to bottom and being as old as it is the gaps have widened (see pics.) The equally thin sides (also made of bonfire toffee) have at some point in the past split too several inches but have been unproffesionally re-glued, I think this is the worst aspect of the guitar and could be done much better. The sides have seperated from the top (see pics) The neck has a slight warp, action at the 12th fret would be about 6mm. The best aspect and most important is the guitar is the three-piece top, which apart from a few edge dings has survived the years very well.
