ANTIQUE EARLY VICTORIAN MAHOGANY CHEST OF DRAWERS c.1860 ON TURNED FEET - LOVELY! This is an opportunityto bid on this Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers that I think dates back to around 1860 or thereabouts. It features a Huge Top Drawer with a lock & key, it has superb Figured Mahogany Grain and is Crossbanded. It has a set of Cast Brass Handles, which look to date to around 1910, I think that originally it would have had wooden knobs. It has one or two chips to the front and the back right-hand corner that I have tried to show in the photographs, however the overall impression is of a really nice, good quality piece of furniture that is ready to give another hundred years of useful service. The finish is a lovely Nut Brown colour however a going over with some Good Quality Wax Polish such as Fiddes Antique Brown would only enhance this. All of the Drawers with their Dovetailed Joints and Ash Linings go in and out smoothly and you feel that even crammed full of clothes they would work just as well. It measures:- 48" (122cms) Max. Width, 21.5" (55cms) Max Depth, and 46.75" (119cms) Height. I have looked all over this Chest of Drawers and I can find no trace of woodworm, or any other nasty beasts come to that. It is for sale here with No Reserve and a Low Starting Price! This is an antique second-hand piece of furniture and read more
