Features: This is a very nice antique (Victorian era 1890's up to Edwardian era 1914 ) heavy ID (signet) bracelet with NO monogram for woman or smaller wrist for man . Made of sterling silver . It's considered rare . An earlier design, hand crafted by Marie Zimmmermann , New York, NY (USA) . She was active during the arts and crafts movement from 1898 up to 1935 (with her shop closing by 1937). In her time, she was a clever inventor of unique fasteners as well as receiving multi-awards such as the Logan prize from The Art Institute of Chicago . very Bracelet's of her earlier patent pending as she was the originator of hidden compartments beneath signet (ID) clasp. These were used to hide secret notes yet the sole purpose was for prayer request, whereby, one puts little prayer request note inside and when prayer is answered , one replaced note with another request . Bracelet has very impressive earlier hand crafted smith workmanship in a unique earlier arts and crafts eye catching chain link design . To fasten, roof of ID is placed over clasp tongue and snaps shut. Purpose for clasp's long tongue is to conceal note placed behind roof of ID pannel .
