A large and wonderful antique American Empire mahogany server sideboard. A real beauty, which I used in my home for years. Originally came from the Borst estate, a local family. Superb detailing on this piece, with lovely spade feet, faux drawer doors on either side, elaborate and classic dentil molding around the top, two large and deep drawers, with the top one being divided into three handy silver serving piece or whatnot compartments. This has been refinished, in fact, my husband refinished this piece....he was very clever and put a finish on it that can be wiped off with water, you can spill anything on this and it will not discolor it at all, stain it, or make white marks. This little fact makes this the perfect serving piece!! I have wiped this off with a damp rag many times and dried it. It has a nice sheen to it which mimics the original finish. It polishes up great with pledge. It is a large and great looking piece, and goes well with most mahogany furniture of the same style. The brasses are not the originals, but they are actually a little dressier in the same federal bail style. No damage or repairs. No missing pieces. Ready to use and enjoy.
