Antique Encoding/Decoder Early Enigma Machine Circa 1890 Code Breaker in Box Here is an unusual item - an antique circa 1890-1910) Encoding/Decoding Machine. It is constructed chiefly of brass and is mounted on a wooden base. The inner wheel is stamped with letters rotates manually and when the desired corresponding number (on the outer edge) is reached, one depresses the telegraph key-like leaver which punches out the desired result on a paper tape which is present. I am not sure who this was made for or used by. It appears to be complete and in working condition as far as I can tell. It is very clean and pristine. The wheel measures four inches in diameter and the paper tape width is ¾ of an inch in width. The box is 4 ½ inches tall, 7 ½ inches deep and approximately 10 ½ inches wide. The box has one brass swing handle, as made. Truly a rare find! Offered for $249, no reserve. Buy it now for $500.All Shipping is via USPS and includes Insurance, Tracking and Careful Packaging!
