Antique English Art Deco Oak Wall Shelf Hat Coat Rack Purchased in a recent shipment from England and Belgium, this listing is for a fabulous antique art deco carved oak hanging wall shelf. · The shelf is solid oak, 1 ½" thick, with beveled top and bottom edges and outstanding deep rich finish and patina. · The silver metal shelf has cut-out sides in an art deco design and two round rods that can be used in a shelf manner; the third rod is square shaped, with flat sides, and has 6 sliding hooks attached. The hooks may be moved all the way across the rod and positioned anyw, for spacing according to your needs!! · The shelf has a deep, rich finish and wonderful oak grain; it is attached to the wall by the two hooks on the back that extend above the upper shelf. This particular shelf is distinctively different from many of the European wall shelves on the market today; I was fortunate to find several of these shelves with extremely unique styling and have several others listed for those interested in comparing styles ... others include an English Arts & Crafts rack, a traditional French shelf and several English shelves. The measurements are 40 ½"length x 9 ¼" width x 9 ½" height; (the hanging hooks extend 1 ¼" beyond the 9 ½"H). A very versatile piece, useable in almost every room of the house (I have one in the utility room, one in the game room). Originally used as a "kitchen shelf", it would also be great for collections of any kind or seasonal/holiday displays. The shelf is in good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, dings and scratches. The metal hooks have some oxidation or loss of silver - typical from use over the years and nothing that detracts from the beauty or functionality of the shelf.
