This cabinet is exquisite, with its large carved shell crown , heavy carved molding and twin turned posts the length of each side âe¦..ALL in RICH tiger (quarter sawn) oak grain that immediately commands attention! I canâe(tm)t decide which feature is the most outstanding, but certainly t are several that speak to the quality constructionâe¦the hand carving done by the skilled craftsmen that created this cabinet...the turned posts that are thick and heavy, and actually a relief-type presentation, each being individual turnedâe¦the carved door frames that are a beautiful design from their era, as noted in the detailed photosâe¦and of course the venerable English carved crown. The doors each lock (key included) with the original hardware, and the overall presentation is a rich, lovely aged patina, packed with elegance and style!! Certainly this cabinet would make a stunning addition to any décor, and could easily be used tabletop, sitting on a sideboard or countertopâe¦or it could be wall hung, which is how it was most recently used (note the large eye hooks on either side). I can envision it as a bookcase or as a display cabinet, but it will most definitely be a focal point in any room! Measurements : 38 1⁄4âeH x 30 1⁄2âe x 13âe; Shelf area, appx. 26âe x 8âe; Height above bottom, 13 1⁄2âe; Height above center shelf, 16âe. All of my antiques are hand selected, utilizing premier European shippers with years of experience. I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase the items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality. Condition : The cabinet is structurally sound, sturdy, and visually appealing, with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections that should be expected in a cabinet over 100 years old. This cabinet could possibly have been reworked during its life, as the interior sides, shelf and back boards are a more rough and thin plank than the thick oak used for the doors and cabinet frame (see photos). Personally, I feel it adds to the unique charm and character of this lovely cabinet!!
