ANTIQUE ENGLISH WALL DROP DOUBLE ROLLING PIN WALL CLOCK. CIRCA LATE 1800'S. Up for bid is this nice old trade clock. The name of the clock maker is: Takano Clock Mfg. Co. Ltd in Nagoya Japan. These were made for trade between England and Japan. The movements and cases were from England and sent to Japan to be completed and traded in other countries. I have had two of these for several years and they were in disrepair. One beyond restoration and one that was pretty solid. I have taken the two and made one decent clock. This cabinet has a lacquer finish which is woodgrain designed over I believe an oak and pine cabinet. This cabinet has had several touch ups and places w the orignial finish is missing. I have touched up some of the areas. I have cleaned the cabinet and shined it up so that it looks much better. The dial has the original trademark on it. The dial is metal. The bottom of the cabinet has the double rolling pin design on it. I have switched the carved leaves on each side of the cabinet with the other clock also. These were much better and the others were both broken. The clock runs on an 8 day Takano trademark movement. I switched movements with the other Takano clock as this movement was like new compared to the other one.
