Antique Bar Billiards / Skittles Table - Manufactured by Jelkes / Jelks - c.1935 $3500 / obo - I'm willing to accept a reasonable offer. No low-ball $1000 offers, please. I've been offered that just for the scoreboard itself. This antique Bar Billiards / Skittles table is an early table made by William Jelkes & Son of London, a company which is generally acknowledged to have manufactured the best quality tables. The table is believed to date from around 1935. It is a full size (6ft) competition table with a thick slate bed and oak finish. I do not know how it came from a London pub to the U.S. I bought it in New York and had it shipped here to Colorado. I've included up-close photos of the felt. It definitely needs a cleaning, and could be replaced easily and inexpensively if you want it in pristine condition. Photos show where two small circles of leather are missing, indicating where the skittle stand. One of the holes/pockets has some wear on the felt as well. Antique Bar Billiards tables of this quality, particularly Jelkes tables, are now very hard to find. Jelkes tables were hand made and were finished to a far higher standard than the modern, mass-produced versions. In addition to being more aesthetically pleasing, their high quality of construction and materials ensures they will last for several lifetimes.This is a rare chance to obtain a superb, original, antique Jelkes Bar Billiards table, suitable for immediate use. Bar Billiards tables of this age and quality are now very rare and are increasing in value. This one is valued at $5500 - $7000. Not only will this table provide hours of enjoyment while you play the game, but it is also a good financial investment. Dimensions (approx.): Table length: 72" (183cm) Overall length (including ball return trough): 77" (196cm) Width (excluding cue rack): 37.5" (95.5cm) Height (excluding back board): 34" (86.5cm) Condition: Playing surface: Very Good Legs and frame (wood): Very Good Backboard: Very Good Cues: One needs the tip replaced, the other three are excellent Balls: Very Good - Excellent Wooden skittles: Very Good - Excellent The table has a few superficial marks to the wood, commensurate with its age and light use, but for a table nearly 80 years old it is in excellent condition. The playing surface is in very good condition - again there are a couple of minor marks but they are in the baulk area are not large or highly visible. The slate is structurally sound and is not cracked. As noted above, the playing surface is in perfect condition. The balls, skittles are all in excellent condition. With these tables now commanding prices up to $8000, this table is an exceptional buy. Includes: Jelkes oak framed Bar Billiards table Original oak back board with score indicators Ball return compartments with score indicators 7 white Bar Billiards balls 1 red Bar Billiards ball 3 Wooden 'Dolly' skittles 4 Cues (one needs to be repaired with a new tip) Scoreboard Brush, for cleaning the felt, cue chalk, and hand chalk * Due to the slate slab, this table is very heavy. It took four men to carry it into our basement. I paid $500 to have it shipped here to Colorado from New York five years ago, so that's what I'm charging for shipping. A private company ...
