Antique English Oak Art Deco Drop front Larkin Desk PETITE SIZE, SOLID OAK, FITTED INSIDE! Direct from England, purchased in a recent English container sale, this listing is for a beautiful antique English drop front desk, in a petite size with outstanding oak grain and craftsman construction. The finish is a deep golden oak and the desk has a fabulous aged patina. I selected this particular desk for its solid oak construction and unique size, which is smaller and more petite than most of these desks. With this slimmer profile, t are so many more options for placement throughout a home or office....whether in a den, study, bedroom, FOYER, just about anyw that you might need an attention demanding piece!! Below the drop front : · 2 art deco drawers(the raised wood sides support the opened top); · 1 paneled door storage area (door does LOCK, key is included); · 5 cubbyhole areas!! Inside the drop front : Fitted with 6 cubbyholes with a scalloped wood top; Opened lid provides a 14" x 25" writing area; When closed the lid does have an operating lock, but the key IS NOT included. Measurements : The desk is 42 ½"H x 27" x 9 ½". Condition : The desk is structurally sound, sturdy, and visually appealing, with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections. This includes some ink staining on the inside fitted and writing area. Also note the locking mechanisms are present on both the drop front AND the lower front door. The included key properly operates the lower front door, but does not fit the drop front. The back is a wood board back and is not the thick oak panel used in all the other parts of the desk. I believe it is worth the few extra dollars to get your one-of-a-kind antique delivered safely to your front door!!
