Antique English Oak Barley Twist Hall Console Table 4 FT LONG, Jacobean style, TWO drawers, Orig makerâe(tm)s label This listing for an outstanding antique English oak barley twist hall or console table. I attend dozens of European container sales each month, and I see very few tables such as this. The fabulous finish is rich and dark, and the silhouette is timeless, with SIX barley twist legs, three across the front and the back legs are barley twist as well (a sure sign of quality construction). The legs are complimented by the original drawer pulls on the two paneled drawers, each with raised trim completely around the drawers and Jacobean wood trim across the front. The table top edge has carved wood trim around the edges as well! I selected this table for its elegant styling, certain to be THE focal point in any room, and a classic touch that will compliment most decors, from traditional to Colonial, Tudor to Victorian. I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase the items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality. The table is 30 ½âeH x 16 ¼âe x 48 ½âe (FOUR FEET LONG); Each drawer interior, appx. 4 ¼âeH x 20âe x 12âe. The original makerâe(tm)s tag is inside the right drawer, providing us with the knowledge this piece was made by Shoolbred & Co, a very high quality London furniture maker that operated at Tottenham Court Road from the later part of the 19 th Century. The label reads as follows: âeoeFromâe âeoeJas. Shoolbred & Co.âe âeoeTottenham Court Rd.âe âeoeLondon, Wâe. The table is in good condition, with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections. The table top has two slight separations, as commonly found in tables this age, but nothing that is material and noted for disclosure purposes only. The table top is very thick and during the life of the table its possible t actually may have an oak top added over the original thinner wood top. But that is not to distract from the English elegance and pride of this beauty!! I only offer carefully selected quality pieces, and always provide multiple photos and written information.
