Antique English Oak Bed Hospital Tray Tiger Oak Arts & Craft, Quarter Sawn Oak, Dated Plaque Direct from England, this listing is for a wonderful reading or working bed tray or lap tray. It is fabulous tiger oak (quarter sawn oak) with remarkable detailing AND a personalized brass plaque. The plaque reads: "Presented to" "Mrs. Lllyn Owen" "By the Ambulance Drivers" "In Appreciation of her services as" "Transport Assistant 1942-45". The tray has a wonderful fitted area with five wood slots, three rounded inserts, and two octagon sided ink well inserts. Both sides are raised and the front is arched inwards to accommodate easy use. The tray has two legs that "pop out" when opened up, and are stabilized by a wood cross-bar. Measurements: 11 ¾"H with legs up, appx. 2" H with legs folded down; 13 ¾" x 26"; Inside writing area, 22" x 10"; Fitted area, 22" x 3". All of my antiques are hand selected from European container shipments. I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase the items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality. The tray is in VERY good condition for its age, sturdy and strong with LESS THAN normal signs of age and use, dings and scratches and other imperfections.
