Antique English Victorian Asian Bamboo Plant Stand 6 FT TALL w Hand Painted birds on lacquer! This listing is for an OUTSTANDING antique Victorian bamboo plant stand and easily one of the most unusual bamboo pieces for sale on the internet market today!! The lower shelf on the two tier stand has the original lacquered top with a hand painted design still bright and clear, and features two beautiful little red birds. The three long bamboo poles that cross to create the stand are straight and strong, each with wood or bamboo "caps" on the top and a circular wood or bamboo top rim to support the jardinière of your choice (the green one in the last photo is not included with the stand and only show for illustration). T ARE NO PLASTIC PARTS , this IS NOT a current reproduction and that is obvious in the construction, with the nails used to attach the bamboo and the wooden backing on the lower shelf. This bamboo stand is a TALL 59 ½" (ALMOST 5 FEET!!); Top ring diameter is 7 3/8"; Footprint on the floor is 22 ½" x 22 ½" x 22 ½". I purchased this unique stand at an English shipment sale. A most unusual piece, surely to be a conversation item in any room, with Asian styling that blends with everything from Victorian to Mission to Art-Deco and Mid-Century! The bamboo stand is in good condition for its age, sturdy and strong with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches and other imperfections. The top ring is sturdy and useable, with the bamboo frame and edging completely intact. As mentioned, the tabletop's lower shelf's hand painted design has aged well, with much of its color and design still visible. T are some worn spots and cracking, and the wood underneath the shelf top has been repaired, so please note photos for complete information........most often similar pieces (tables and shelves) do not even have the original painted shelf tops, as they are more frequently covered with grass cloth because this original design survived on very few of these wonderful pieces............so only buyers familiar with this style stand will appreciate the stunning beauty of this, despite it age and wear! SHIPPING: Professional packaging, shipping and insurance on this item will be $125.00. (lower 48 states only), due to the very tall height and the delicate nature of the piece. All my antique furniture is professionally packaged for shipment by UPS, resulting in very little shipping damage in the past, but sometimes creating slightly higher shipping costs on my antiques versus other sellers.
