This is a nice Antique Turkoman rug. It is a hand knotted Ensi (Hatchli) Ersari and is a Collector's piece from the 19th century. This rug has an extremely nice design and a pleasant color combination and is woven with good quality wool which uses all natural vegetable dyes. It has very good knot quality and is in good condition considering it's age. The pile height is low and the foundation is visible in spots. The ends and salvages are complete and intact and secure except for a 1 inch area of the salvage which needs to be secured. Minimum well done repairs. I noticed that there are two tiny 1/4 inch holes that need repair and one 1/4 inch weak spot that should eventually be secured. There is some corrosion to the dark browns and dark blues. This piece is a nice collectors rug and definitely beautiful art for the floor. This rug is part of my private collection and is priced to sell quickly. All reasonable offers will be seriously considered. PLEASE CHECK OUT THE OTHER RUGS FROM MY COLLECTION. I will be adding more rugs weekly.
Please Note: I am not a dealer. I am a collector. Due to economic conditions I am liquidating a large number of my rugs. I am not an authority on rugs. I try to describe the type and quality as well as the general condition of the rug as best as I can. If you have specific questions please feel free to enquire. I do not accept returns so it is always best to inquire before you bid so that you know what you are bidding on and will be happy with your purchase. It is important to note that rugs that have a wool foundation, are quite different from rugs with a cotton foundation. These rugs quite often have irregular shape and can lay quite different on the floor than a rug with a cotton foundation. Antique rugs are, due to age, construction, and weaving technique, more delicate than other rugs and should generally be used in areas with less traffic. Generally I sell/ship to North America only. On occasion I will sell internationally but be aware that international shipping can be very costly so inquire before bidding. An additional consideration for international bidders is the Customs charges you might incur.
