This adorable antique doll is named Koweeka, or Smilie. He was made by the Canadian company Dee & Cee Toy Co. for the Hudson's Bay Company in the 1960s. Smilie is wearing his original outfit of an ivory felt parka and matching pants. The parka is trimmed with blue and red ribbons. The parka has a zipper on the back and the hood is lined with fur. Koweeka is also wearing ivory felt booties with red trim and a blue string tie and a pair of golden mittens. Koweeka is made of composition. He is 15" tall including his parka. He has short, straight, black hair. Koweeka's face is quite charming and his sweet smile is very endearing. The back of Koweeka's head is marked "Koweeka c. 1960, Hudson Bay Co.". "D&C" is imprinted above his buttocks. The doll comes with a small pamphlet which explains the history of Koweeka. This doll is in excellent condition. The doll does not have any marks, cracks or discolorations. His hair is slightly matted from wearing his hood up, but this could easily be remedied if so desired. The clothing and accessories are in excellent condition. T are no stains, rips or tears on any of the clothing. Nor are t signs of moth damage. This is a charming doll in near mint condition. He is a treasure to any doll collector.
