The majority of purchases were made in the 1960's-80's when good things were available on a regular basis. Some years ago, received a phone call from the head of the arms and armor department. at one of the major London auction houses. He told me that a large quantity of antique armor had been discovered in a manner house in the north of England, and had been shipped to him to be sold. Knowing my reputation, he contacted me in the expectation that are interested in purchasing all of it. I was already scheduled to attend the sale.
