Description: A very old pair of glasses found in an estate auction. The glasses came in a wooden box with instructions to "keep this box, in case of accident. Reverse the lid and send the pieces to J. Frank Wallace, The Eye Service Man , Decatur, Illinois at 258 N. Main Street". The glasses are 4-1/2 inches from hinge to hinge. The lens are 1-1/4 inches top to botton, and 1-1/2 inches side to side. The wire ear pieces are approx 4 inches to the bend. In the box was a note that these glasses belonged to Papa--father of Ethel Burke Trulock. The slip of paper said that he died July 1912 of T.B.Condition: A slight chip on the left lens near the nose piece, otherwise perfect. Very Interesting. How did they wear these fragil items.
