I consider this to be a very unusual antique piano shawl. Two of the corners feature figures, one of whom appears to be a winged angel. I've never seen an angel on an oriental shawl before, have you? They are set against a pagoda and surrounded by roses and other flowers. The other two corners feature peacocks and flora. The color is a lovely celadon (pale green) with golden beige embroidery. It keeps photographing blue but trust me, it's a very pale celery green.The workmanship is so good it is practically reversible.The fabric itself is a very sheer and delicate silk that , when worn, seems to float on the body. Beautifullyand intricately hand done, this huge 62" x 64" piano shawl is borderedby an additional 5" of macrame and 8" of fringe for a total of 88" x 80". The shawl seems to be in very good condition. I see a few light stains (last 2 pictures) and some teeny pinholes. I really had to look very closely to find the defects. I consider them minimal particularly considering the shawl's age. The fringe could use a good combing to bring it to its full glory.
