is an antique hand wrought iron fireman's bed key. It is also called a J-Key. These were carried by fireman back in the day when a homeowner had leather buckets to hold water, and bags to carry out valuables in the case of a fire. The fireman used the key to disassemble a bed in the case of a fire, as the bed was often the most valuable item in a home. It is said that these were also called J keys, and perhaps are the origin of the Jake nickname for a firefighter. I do not know for sure, t are other theories of the origin of the name. It is as shown. Offered with no reserve. Winning bidder may pay by Paypal, money order or bank check. No personal checks. I ship as soon as payment is received and charge actual shipping only, no handling fee. I am always happy to combine items to save shipping cost. Winning bidder please wait for eBay invoice with shipping details before payment. Thanks for looking!
