the original color of paint on this sap bucket is a red salmon color you can see coming through on the bottom .it has the original wire to hang it on the tree. it is signed by the artist M. CHICK. my best guess, because this isn't my field ,it was most likely painted in the mid 20th century. this i a very good artist. this is not a decal, but it almost looks to good to be freehand. you can actually see brush strokes. it measures 9 7/8 inches tall, and 12 inches in diameter. it has two metal bands holding it together. it isn't loose.the white spots on the backside of this bucket must of been w some moisture seeped through from the inside . this piece is extremely attractive hanging on the wall.it is a real piece of art. no reserve on this piece
