This is a gorgeous 12" carving knife from the mid-19th century. It comes complete with its stag horn handle, a rare feature for cutlery. The piece has a wonderful well-worn patina, rendering it compatible with both primitive and Victorian settings. On the blade, I can make out V (crown mark) R, George Newbould, and Sheffield. From my research I gathered the V crown R mark was used by companies that supplied materials to the English crown. The carving knife likely dates to the 1850s or 1860s. It has very noticeable wear from handling and use. Nonetheless, it would make an ideal decor item or addition to a collection.
