HELLO AND WELCOME, LOOK FORWARD TO ADDING THIS ANTIQUE FLOW BLUE DUNN BENNETT & CO. POTTERY BOWL TO YOUR COLLECTION. THE PATTERN WAS CALLED, "DUCHESS PATTERN." THIS POTTERY PIECE WAS MADE IN BURSLEM, ENGLAND, CIRCA LATE 1800'S. THIS IS A SCALLOPED SHAPED SHALLOW POTTERY BOWL FEATURING FLOW BLUE FLOWERS AND TRIM AS WELL AS GOLD "DUSTING" THROUGHOUT AND TRIM. THE CONDITION OF THIS ANTIQUE BOWL IS GOOD WITH CRAZING AND THE BOTTOM SHOWS AGE DISCOLORATION. THIS BOWL MEASURES 9 1/2 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND APPROX. 2 INCHES IN HEIGHT. Dunn Bennett manufactured earthenware and Ironstone for both the home and American markets. Their products were of high quality; and having retail establishments in both countries they were in a position to cater successfully for both countries. Became part of the Royal Doulton Group and then eventually ceased operation - the last occupied works (Dalehall Works) became the site of the new Steellite hotel ware manufacturing and warehousing site. |
