Antique Flower Basket Quilt from Kentucky pre 1860's Zig-Zag border on two edges, some fabric wear, measures 81 x 66 (trundle bed) Dear friends, We are proud to present to you more from our friend's home in Kentucky. The original house was built in 1804, occupied for eight generations. The last four generations were our friend's family, and as she said, "No one threw anything away!" The variety of goods we have for sale is staggering. This week we are showing you her quilts. These are all from the same home, same family, appraised as dating "between 1850 to 1890, if not older". **THIS QUILT WAS APPRAISED AS "PRE-1860's"** I'll be happy to provide more photos as you need 'em. Pattern: Flower Basket. 1/2 inch square grid quilting on the body, (straight rows 3/8 inch apart, 10 to 12 stitches per inch on the 2 1/4 inch wide border). BEAUTIFULLY quilted, TERRIFICALLY pieced. The applique'd handles of the flower baskets are set on with the tiniest of stitches. The quilting is **so regular stitched**, and the piecing is just grand. This quilt has no intials, but perhaps was made by our master quilter, Ms. Prewitt. Sadly the pink applique fabric is in poor shape due to strong pattern dyes, but we don't see "popping" on the seams. Colors are pretty well preserved, with some fading on certain baskets.
