Here is a great example of true American Folk Art. Dating to the turn of the last century, this is said to be a Passenger Freight Steamer on the Great Lakes up to and including WWI. Measuring an impressive 40" long 10" wide and 19" high, this old model shows the builders imagination and ability to incorporate the materials at hand, from orange crates, hardware cloth, picture wire, tin cans and spools. Showing somewhat primitive, and fragile, it supports itself, and two 48 star American flags, needing no stand. The paint is as to be expected with some remaining cleanable soil, however remaining tight and bright. The superstructure, could be removed for shipping, but I suggest not. The flags can be removed and packed on deck, reducing the height a couple inches.
