Antique folk art made of wood with jointed knees arms and legs. This doll is painted black all over his body and has painted white hands and head. The carving on the face is incredible. The jointed legs are much more crudelly made---one leg being longer then the other. He can sit on his wooden chair nicely. The chair is rather crude also. Front legs are nailed in closer to each other than the rear legs, making it harder to balance the chair while sitting the doll on it. His clothing is handmade. Material of pants is wild to say the least, but their overall condition is very good. No rips or tears etc. Shirt has seam on arm near wrist that needs to be resewn. However I would leave it as is. Je is just about 16" tall. Needs a stand to stand upright----he does after all have one leg shorter than the other. I purchased this doll at auction so I do not know his history. I am guessing from 1900-1920. Great folk art item. Please ask any questions before bidding. I do my best to describe the item, but remember vintage and antique items are rarely perfect. Condition is in the eye of the beholder on these items. I do mail twice weekly, sometimes more if time allows. I will combine items when possible. All items sold as is. Please get insurance to protect your purchase. I do not make insurance mandatory on low end items, just an option. But
