Awesome Frame!! This is an antique frame that contains 12 treasury notes from the confederate states. The notes are not in very good shape as whomever framed these did not put paper between the wood backing and the notes. Some of the notes are brittle and breaking. The frame is a wonderful carved wood that measures 19 3/4" x 31 1/2", very pretty and contains the very old wavy glass. Update: October 9, 2008 This was aquired at an estate sale of whom was an auctioneer and avid antique collector. We have received a few questions on the authenticity of the notes, so we decided to take them out of the frame, we have not wanted to mess with it. They look very very old. The corners of the notes were glued with something to the wood backing. I am by far not an expert in this area, so I've added a few more pictures. By all means if anyone has any questions do not hesitate to ask. A list of the notes starting from the left going down, then the 2nd and so on are as follows: $ 500.00 Cofederate States Of America, dated February 17, 1864 $ 100.00 Alabama Confederate Treasury Note, dated 1st of January 1864 $ 5.00 The Cotton Planters Loan Association of the 5th Congregational District of South Carolina $ 1.00 State of Florida dated, March 1st, 1863 $ 100.00 Virginia Treasury Note dated, October 15, 1862 $ 100.00 State Louisiana Treasury
