This is a fine quality, circa 1855, French barometer and it is in excellent working condition and is well hallmarked-" S.G.D.G. Paris" and "C H " The crossbar of the movement has a further small encircled logo which is in interlocking script and cannot be decipd. I have several high end barometers, English wheels and aneroid etc. but this one is the most sensitive to the changes in pressure. All original as far as I can tell, including old worm holes to the back. I have treated the wood just to make sure that no further damage occurs. 22.5" tall and 7 3/4" wide. The instrument itself is 5.5" wide. The thermometer is working and fluid has no breaks but t is a stain in the tube as you can see. It is reading a bit low. My reserve is well below what I think is its value. Mailing at true cost. Mailing to the US insured 30.00. To parts of Europe (GB, France ) 75.00.
