Rare circa 1900 French 2 door miniature cupboard from Brittany. Established as a cottage industry in Brittany, these miniature hand made pieces copy the style of furniture that was so popular in country farm houses in Brittany at one time. While it could have been used as doll furniture, it was most likely intended for sale to the tourist trade during the early decades of the last century. The wood is a stained brown and has an applied satin wax finish. Measures 9-3/4" tall by 5-3/4" wide and 3-1/8" deep. The top right front and rear corners are chipped & top corner of right door is a little chipped (see photo's) - otherwise this is in excellent condition.
