This majolica Caugant tureen is in practically perfect condition. An handsome buck reclining comfortably. It measure some 8.5 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by 8 inches tall. Most all Caugant tureens are made in Portugal ( a well known secret is that the Portuguese are geniuses when it cxomes to manufacturing Majolica) under license for theFrench market. Michel Caugant was a resauranter/chef known for his delectible patés. He had all sorts of different realistic animal themed tureens created for the corresponding dish based on that animal. It would make a darling candy dishes...or equally charming filled with a dip and surrounded by a bunny's favorite crudités...carrots, celery, radishes. Shipping is for priority airmail from France. |
