Antique French Carved Oak Barley Twist Arm Chair LARGE This listing is for a fabulous antique French arm chair, VERY large and substantial, massive could easily describe the size!! The chair has ornate carvings on the round ends of each arm, with beautiful barley twist legs, arms and stretcher bars. The corners have a Breton style accent carved on each. The chair is direct from France, purchased in a French antique container shipment sale. It has newer upholstery, in a beautiful, multi-colored floral design, with deep, vibrant tones that will surely compliment any décor. The upholstery is in very very good condition, clean without any rips or tears. The chair also has its original castors on all four feet. This chair is definitely a statement piece -- it would make a wonderful accent chair in the library, den, office, or bedroom; and of course, it could be used for the "head of the table" in a dining room or board room!! If you would like a PAIR of these chairs, I actually purchased a PAIR, but have listed them separately, so buyer may purchase just one or both if a MATCHING PAIR is desired!!! The chair is 41 /4"H; 25 ¾"across the front of the seat; 21 ½" across the chair back; 23" front to back; Appx. 18" from the floor to the top of the seat cushion. As mentioned, the chair is in very good condition, with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections. I only offer carefully selected quality pieces, and always provide multiple photos and written information. I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character. SHIPPING: Professional packaging, shipping and insurance on this item will be $225.00. (Lower 48 states only), due to the massive size and weight. All my antique furniture is professionally packaged for shipment by UPS, resulting in very little shipping damage in the past, but sometimes creating slightly higher shipping costs on my antiques versus other sellers. I believe it is worth the few extra dollars to get your one-of-a-kind antique delivered safely to your door!! Local pick-up in Shreveport, Louisiana is also available to buyers in the area.
