Very nice antique French bronze figural clock, circa late 1800's to early 1900's. In good working condition, this Mantle Clock surmounted by what appears to be the seated Christ with a crown of thorns above the enameled porcelain dial. The lower case is ornately decorated with central ecclesiastic scene, floral sprays and scrolling decorations. Intricate detail throughout. The Clocks stands 16" tall, 12" wide and 4 1/2" deep. The 3 1/4" enameled dial with Arabic numerals and black moon hands bears just one hairline. A fast/slow adjustment above the number 12. The 8 day Time only movemnet is French, unsigned. Pierced brass rear door, key and pendulum are present. The clock in is wonderful condition, runs well and keeps good time. It appears that t once was a staff or rod in the arms of the Jesus which is missing. Also t are 2 very tiny holes on the right side top w t may have been a small floral spray. Neither of these are very noticable and the stunning Clock retains its striking majestic impression. I believe these antique bronze clocks were originally under a glass dome.. long gone and were made without a glass door over the dial. This clock has no glass. I pack these Clocks with great care to make the journey without damage. This Clock will be wrapped with several layers of bubble wrap and styrofoam w needed. Pendulum will be packed separately and all moving parts secured. The Clock will then be "double boxed" with several inches of packing peanuts between boxes to ensure a safe delivery to your home or business. If you have any questions please email me.
