This is a beautiful rare to find early handpainted trinket box that I believe was possibly a snuff box. It is done in cream with blues and depicts a lady in the garden. It appears to be porcelain handpainted, possibly enamel? Hard to tell. The overall condition is good, there is some age wear and some staining to the box, one chip to the edge of the base on the bottom, hard to notice on display. The ormolu mount looks to have been reglued at one point but not certain and closes but does not snap. I see no large chips or repairs to the actual porcelain. Measures 2 3/4 inches by 1 1/4 inches high. The bottom is marked with a handpainted letter A and could represent A with an L, not sure. If anyone knows the exact manufacturer, please share!
