This is a remarkable antique French flow blue turkey plate. The oral provenance given when we bought the item dates the plate to 1880-1890. We have no reason to doubt this, however we also can not prove the actual age of the piece. The plate has the look and feel of older porcelain: regardless of age, it is a stunning beauty. The plate has a ruffled edge with embossed detail, a deep cobalt blue border which then flows to a white center, and a gold floral stenciled pattern. The gold pattern is in particuarly good condition. It measures 9.25" in diameter. The turkey plate is in very good condition given its age. T is fine, uniform glaze crazing on the surface. It is 100+ years old and has a bit of age related patina. T are no cracks or chips. The piece is backstamped with a simple green "France" (shown in photo). No reserve! Reasonable minimum price!
