We have this stunning late 1800's gilt metal French mantel clock . Basic spelter / pot metal body that has been gilded . Highly decorative base with a seated woman and an eagle ( in a different colored metal ) over the clock . Her arm is off but looks to be an easy fix and t is a stress crack by her fingers too. Has been stored for many years without seeing the light of day . Undamaged porcelain dial with most of the maker's name worn off. Has pendulum , no key . The thin strip of metal for the pendulum is broken . On winding the left hand winder jumps and t may be a fault with that spring . Not currently working . Smal stress crack to the back base - see photo . Clock was originally under a glass dome . It measures 15 " wide and just under 12 " tall. Areas of discoloration to the metal escpecially on left hand side . Water had dripped onto this side at one point . T is some amazing detail to this once expensive clock . Ideal as a fixer - or just for spares . I hope it goes to an appreciative new home . Low start and low reserve.
