These were an interesting group of clocks that appeared in the closing decade of the 19th century in France. Sometimes referred to as Acorn Clocks, they were typically hand carved wood cartel cases that housed 8 day time and strike movements plus an aneroid Barometer and a Thermometer. for your consideration is this circa 1880- 1890 French Time and Strike Clock, Thermometer and Barometer in exceptionally nice condition. Measurements are 35" tall by 16" wide and approximately 6" deep. Warm deep walnut original finish also in nice condition. No damage or repairs. What I believe to be completely all original this pendulum clock keeps good time and strikes on a steel coiled gong once on the half hour with a full hour count on the hour. Original hand written Service Label intact inside in French dated August 1944. The Weatherstation has been very well cared for over the years and is evident in its pristine condition. You will not be disappointed. Stunning hand carved walnut door with 7" diameter wooden dial bearing applied porcelain roman numerial cartuches and unique stunning cherub pierced brass hands, all t, all intact with no issues. Tiered pediment, majestic spindled gallery or widows walk crown as they are sometimes called over 4 full columns, numerous finales, raised panels and carved accents will make this a feature in any decor. Thermometer is in centigrade on a enamel plate and barometer is labeled in French. I do not know if the Barometer is working but it appears to be complete and intact. The large hinged door operates smoothly and latches tightly closed. This stunning Clock will be very carefully packed and insured to ensure a safe delivery to your home or business and can be yours if you are the winning bidder. I take extra care in packing these delicate antiques. Please note that antique clocks may need a minor adjustment after shipping. Pendulum will be removed, packed separately and all moving parts will be secured. The Clock will be bubble wrapped, boxed and then double boxed with several inches of packing peanuts.
