Here is an absolutely incredible set of six late 19 Century oak French heavy carved "Henri II" gorgeous dining side chairs, all painstakingly reupholstered in high quality floral tapestry fabric, and the amazing matching solid oak table with decorative stretcher, carved legs and edges with three full size 15 inch wide leaves, providing multiple options as you expand the table from it's smaller square size to a full length banquet table. This beautiful antique French table and chairs are circa 1880 and the craftsmanship throughout the set is quite evident. The stretcher and chair back splats incorporate an nautical spin wheel theme as well as carved floral design throughout the set. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition and overall beauty of this fantastic ebay find, but I must say my photographs really can't do this set justice. Note the lovely oak wood grain on the end leg supports which fold up under the table when closed and fold down to support the ends when opened and leaves added. The lovely top surface is clean and ready for use with or without the leaves as shown. The carving on the edges of the leaves matches the carved edges of the table so the carving leaves in does go all the way around, and one, two or all three of the leaves can be used at any given time. The amazing decorative stretcher and carvings on the table legs match the design on the chair backs and their carved legs. See how the the terrific floral tapestry fabric on the seats has been carefully centered to highlight the larger daffodil flower within the floral on each of the six chairs as shown in my close up. The upholstery is in very good condition and like the table, these chairs are ready for use. This set is not perfect, having some of the minor nicks and dents to the finish one would expect in a gently used older group of furniture like this and one of the chairs does have an age related vertical hairline split to a section of the back which does not appear to compromise it structurally or appearance wise at all. This is an exquisite 10 piece antique Henri II French heavy carved oak group (table; 3 leaves; and 6 chairs) in very good condition looking for it's special new home. This marvelous table has a surface height of 29 3/4 inches. Without it's leaves as a four top it measures 44 1/2 inches by 43 inches. As each of it's 15 inch by 43 inch leaves are added, it grows in length from 44 1/2 to 59 1/2 inches, 74 1/2 inches or 89 1/2 inches in length respectively. The chairs have a seat height of 19 inches. The backs of the chairs measure 38 inches tall and the seats are 17 1/2 inches wide tapering to 15 1/2 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. This is really a special find to come across such a marvelous late 19th century french "Henri II" dining set together with six chair and all in such wonderful contidion.
