Antique 19th century French ladies writing desk with original finish and all ormolu in place. Measures 42 3/8 inches high by 28 inches length, 17 1/2 inches depth. The top two teirs can be taken off of desk top and are held in by four round pegs. The center veneer is a type of burl wood with a lighter yellow line of wood inlay with the outer wood possibly mahogany or rosewood, I know the sides of drawers are oak with very wide dovetails. The ormolu is all in very good condition with some spots needing new tiny tacks w it has come loose. Desk has a spot under leg in back that needs some restoration with veneer coming loose but very minimal and is underneath, and at back of desk someone has screwed in a small brace as the joint is loose. T is one spot on burl wood that has lost finish about 1 1/2" by 2". The inner drawer has a writing desk that is covered in a medium blue velvet that has been imprinted on edges with the same pattern as the ormolu gallery at top. Each of the four legs is outlined in ormolu from top to foot, all drawers are outlined, side panels. Overall desk is very beatiful and would not take much to have it perfect. I have more pictures available just ask and I will email them. Desk is all hand made with chamfored bottom panels in drawers. Buyer will provide shipping and I am more than happy to drop at a shippers location as long as they package desk. Has original lock but I do not have the key.
