Antique French Louis XV Rosewood Inlaid Leather Desk NR THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION !!!! You are bidding on an Antique French Louis XV Leather Top Writing Desk. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and beautiful quality. It was BEAUTIFULLY made and sits on nicely curved French cabriole legs with Bronze trim going down all 4 legs. The desk is finished on ALL of its sides so it can be placed anyw in a room. It is beautifully inlaid throughout as you will see in the pictures below and made with beautiful Brazilian rosewood which is a very RARE, expensive, exotic and sought after. It has 3 beautifully curved drawers which are all doweled and dovetailed together with Bronze pull handles that have a nice floral pattern etched into the Bronze itself. The center drawer has a mortise lock and keyhole (no key). The top has a nice green leather inset with a gold tooling border going around the edges in a nice floral pattern embossed throughout. The top of each corner of the desk has beautiful Bronze floral medallions with nice Bronze trim going throughout the edges which then go down each leg all in a beautiful floral design etched into the castings. The piece is beautifully curved throughout all with various exotic woods and Satinwood inlays with a beautiful Burl. Around each drawer is inlaid and banded in a beautiful Satinwood and Ebony with an exotic Rosewood grain pattern as you can see in the pictures below. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality that surpasses ANYTHING made today and is all wood construction in a beautiful Satin gloss finish but Please understand that this is an antique that is all original so it has some minor imperfections on it and does need a little tlc but overall its in excellent shape. This piece measures approx 53 inches long, 26 inches deep and approx 31 3/4 inches high. This is a NO RESERVE auction and since I am assuming all the risk by starting the bidding at 1 dollar you will have to pay for shipping.
