You are bidding on an Antique French Louis XV Secretaire Abattant Desk & Chest of Drawers Commode Cabinet. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and dates back to the early part of the 19th Century Circa 1840 made in France. This piece was BEAUTIFULLY made and sits on tapered block legs at each corner. It has 4 drawers which are all doweled and dovetailed together with bronze dore keyhole covers that have a floral pattern etched into the brass itself and hand milled mortise locks. The inside has 7 additional smaller drawers all in a beautiful burl walnut with rounded decorative columns and nnice open shelf space. The is beautifully beautifully figured throughout and was done in the manner of Louis Phillipe. The piece itself has a beautiful and exotic black figured walnut wood grain with burl walnut on the inside and has some veneer lifted that needs work throughout and its all original. This makes for a beautiful accent because of its size that can be used in a hallway or foyer, living room, bedroom, library, study and anyw else throughout your home which I PROMISE will be a topic of conversation. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality that surpasses ANYTHING made today and is all wood construction but Please understand that this an antique that is all original so it has some minor imperfections on it but overall its in excellent shape. This piece measures approx 36 3/4 inches wide, 67 1/4 inches high and approx 17 1/4 inches deep.This is a NO RESERVE auction and since I am assuming all the risk by starting the bidding at $1 dollar you will have to pay for shipping.
