DESCRIPTION SHIPPING PAYMENT VISIT MY STORE ABOUT US Antique French Louis XV Secretaire Desk Commode Chest Click Images to Enlarge DESCRIPTION THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION !!!! You are bidding on an Antique French Louis XV Secretaire Desk & Chest of Drawers Commode Cabinet. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and dates back to the 18th Century Circa 1760 and most likely even earlier made in France and is one of the oldest pieces of furniture I have ever brought to market and this is the REAL thing from the 1700s. This piece sits on beautifully tapered and curved French cabriole legs with splayed feet. It has 3 drawers which are all doweled and dovetailed together with bronze dore keyhole covers at the center of each drawer that has a shell crested floral pattern etched into the bronze itself with the pull handles on each side. The sides as well as the drawers have beautifully curved anc scrolling recessed and raised panels as shown in the photos which was beautifully done and elegantly decorative for the time period in which this piece was done in.. The inside has a nicely fitted interior with drawers and beautifully curved shelving as shown in the photos. The piece is beautifully figured throughout and was done in the manner of Louis XV and during the actual period. This piece is approx 250 years old and has some old repair at the corner of the desk and does come in 3 pieces and is a big piece of the 1700s. The top slant lid has 2 pull out sliders at each end to support the desk. The top has nicely recessed trim work a beautiful bronze keyhole cover with large mortise lock and no key. The back as well as the bottom of the drawers are all planked and has some separation inside the drawers which is expected of a piece of this age and overall in beautiful condition and has beautifully carved detail. The piece itself has a beautiful and exotic naturally figured wood grain. This makes for a beautiful accent because of its size that can be used in a hallway or foyer, living room, bedroom, library, study and anyw else throughout your home which I PROMISE will be a topic of conversation. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality that surpasses ANYTHING made today and is all wood construction but Please understand that this an antique that is all original so it has some minor imperfections on it but overall its in excellent shape. This piece measures approx 47 inches wide, 46 inches high and approx 25 inches deep.
