A fine French eight day clock with matching candelabra, constructed from white marble and gilt bronze, and dating from about 1880. This style of clock is commonly known as a portico clock, because the clock proper is supported by columns. The clock is 18 inches high and 11 inches wide. Each of the two candelabra is 15 inches high and 6 inches wide. Clock and candelabra are in excellent condition. The clock strikes (on a bell) once at the half hour, and strikes out the full hours at the top of the hour, keeping accurate time all week long. Retains its original porcelain dial (4 inches in diameter) and gilt hands. On the pendulum is the image of Helios, the pagan sun god. With proper double-ended winding key. Clock and candelabra rest on small decorative gilt bronze feet. All items we sell are guaranteed to be as described. Contact us for a shipping quote, via UPS insured.
