Antique early 19th century French First Empire Napoleonic officer sword âe" Epée . A gold gilded brass hilt with a wooden chequered grip and down turned shell guard bearing Ancient griffins and a Roman lyre on the middle, a knuckle bow cast and engraved with foliage and a lion's mask and flower, a turned pommel decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls. A straight single edged blade with fuller and spear. MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 91.5 cm (36 in). Length of the blade: 79 cm (31 1/8 inches). Condition: The blade is with minor surface pitting.
