Antique French Oak Barley Twist Bookcase Stained Glass Antique French Oak Carved Barley Twist Huntboard, circa 1870 Direct from France, this exquisite bookcase, sideboard or "huntboard" was purchased in a special French shipment sale. TRULY one of a kind and absolutely stunning, I cannot possibly take enough photos to do justice to thie elegant statement piece!!! As you can see, the upper cabinet has two stained glass doors, with beautiful detailing and completely free from any cracks or chips. The lower cabinet has outstanding pheasant carvings; Original pulls on the drawers; Barley twist side posts on both upper and lower cabinets; Open carved trim on the top with griffins and pheasants; Doors lock, and key is included; Solid oak construction. Measurements : 8 ft tall x 55" x 21"; base 39" x 55" x 21". Condition : The huntboard is in very good condition for it's age, with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings and other imperfections that can be expected in a 100+ year antique! It is sturdy and structurally sound! Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character.
