A delicate French Old Paris cabinet cup and saucer dating from circa 1870. It is beautifully hand painted in pastel colors with a courting couple next to a stream in a wooded setting. The saucer is painted in matching colors with musical instruments and a dove with birds nest. The painting is especially fine and well done; there is a signature in gold on the reverse, probably the artist. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or wear. All white spots are merely light reflections. Cup size approx. 3 1/4" in diameter and 2" high, saucer diameter approx. 5 1/2".
